Through a sustained interest in the creation and interpretation of visual symbols influenced by personal experience, I have chosen to produce booklets that readers can interact with.
The "psychometric" magazine from the '00s (I have a lot of them at home). It's something like "Your love tendencies by the shape of your face" or "What kind of voodoo doll are you". The reader was given answers by choosing options that were completely unrelated and subjective.
As mentioned in the nostalgia section, I have an obsessive longing for that era, which is a mix of childhood memories and the hopeful winds of China's transformation and opening up in the new century.
Sort of like my collaborative project with Ye Zhang, I will provide some ambiguous visual symbols. They are used as options and the reader is directed to an outcome after making choices according to the questions.
